Practical Everyday Godly Living 2/19/26
Living a godly life is an everyday journey that involves creating routines, renewing our minds, and understanding our identity in Christ. In this post, we’ll explore how to start a quiet time routine, strategies for mind renewal, and the significance of combating modern idolatry. We’ll also discuss how to move from routine with God to a deeper, more personal relationship.
Starting a Quiet Time Routine
Establishing a quiet time routine is essential for spiritual growth. Set aside a specific time each day when you can be alone with God. Whether it’s early in the morning or late at night, find a time that works best for you. Begin your quiet time with prayer, asking God to open your heart and mind to His Word. Read your Bible thoughtfully, and consider using a devotional to guide your reflections. Journaling can also enhance your quiet time, helping you articulate your thoughts and prayers.
Mind Renewal Strategies
Renewing your mind is a vital step in godly living. Romans 12:2 encourages us to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Start by identifying negative thoughts or beliefs that contradict biblical truths. Replace them by meditating on Scripture and focusing on God’s promises. Consider memorizing verses that speak to your identity in Christ. This practice will not only transform your thinking but also empower you in your daily life. My testimony from removing negative thought patterns to memorizing scripture and believing biblical truth was a total life changing experience for me! This helped how I viewed myself, as well as how I related to my husband and children, as the Word flushed out those worldly thought patterns to a " New Creation in Christ" mindset, in which we will discuss next😊. (Keep reading, we hope you are elated towards growing your spiritual relationship with God).
Understanding Your Identity in Christ
Knowing who you are in Christ is a powerful component of your faith. Scripture tells us that we are loved, chosen, and redeemed. Embrace the truth that you are a child of God, created in His image. This understanding shapes how you view yourself and how you interact with others. When challenges arise, remind yourself of your position in Christ, which brings comfort and strength. 2nd corinthians 5:17 states that we are a new creation in Jesus Christ. The old is gone and behold, all things become new. This means you are no longer defined by your past mistakes. Your brand new identity in Christ gives you the right of way ➡️ to live a new life of purpose and to glorify God. Such wonderful News 📰 to be saved by God's Amazing Grace! Just 💭 for a moment. Combating Modern Idolatry
In today's world, idolatry can easily creep in, often disguised as priorities or possessions. Evaluate what takes center stage in your life. Is it your job, social media, or even relationships? Recognize these as potential distractions that can lead you away from God. Combat modern idolatry by intentionally prioritizing your relationship with God and seeking first His kingdom (Matthew 6:33). Regularly reassess your commitments and ensure that God remains the focal point of your life.
From Performance Routine with God to Relationship
While developing routines is important, it’s equally crucial to nurture a personal relationship with God. Transitioning from routine to relationship requires intentionality. Foster a dialogue with God through prayer, expressing not only your needs but also your gratitude and love for Him. Be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life. Engage in community with other believers, as fellowship helps deepen your understanding of God and encourages growth. Remember, performance based do's and dont's and following a list of rules and regulations is legalism. God desires to connect with you through a personal, intimate relationship by embracing His Presence and understanding His heart ♥️ and love for you. No need to perform to earn His Love. Simply, rest. Rest in His Word, in prayer and close fellowship with your Heavenly Father. That is more than enough for Him. He desires all of you, without reservation. Surrender all to Him.
